In the Gospel today, we hear that the people, “were amazed at the gracious words that came from His mouth.” Then, how quickly that amazement turned to mistrust and ultimately a potential act of violence. This Gospel is a reminder to us all that any given situation has the potential of becoming explosive at any moment. It is important for us to always remember to be calm and collected. Our Catholic views may not always be readily accepted by some, nonetheless, we are to remain calm in the face of any opposition.
