As we witnessed in the Gospel last weekend and as we see this weekend, our Lord is constantly teaching the vast crowds on how to live a good and virtuous life. We cannot allow these lessons to escape from our notice. Each of the words of Christ have impact in our lives. It benefits us greatly to listen to Him; and, not only listen, but also ponder these words. As we approach the Lenten Season make the resolution to focus more on what our Lord is saying. We could take a few examples, perhaps from the “Blessed” and the “Woe” categories of today’s Gospel, and deeply reflect upon them. I guarantee what He says will strike a chord in your heart.
