As we continue to follow the theme of the Lord’s Call and our response, let us turn to today’s psalm.  In Psalm 95 we hear, “If   today you hear His voice, harden not your hearts.”  In these past few weeks we have focused on the pillars of discipleship.  That is, the need to listen for and receive the Lord’s Call.  Once we hear and receive His Call, we must act with immediacy in our response.  We witnessed last week Simon Peter, Andrew, James, and John following Christ without the slightest hesitation.  Their hearts were open and properly disposed to receive and respond ~ their hearts were not hardened.  As we continue to move forward, are we properly disposed to hearing and receiving the Lord’s Call?  How do we ensure that we have not hardened our hearts?  We can do so by heeding the words of St. Josemaria: “Live a life close to Christ.”  This can be done through prayer, Holy Mass, and Confession.

Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Fr. Wayne
