This weekend, the Call of Christ continues. Last weekend, we reflected on the Call and the two pillars that form the foundation of discipleship. That is, we need to receive the Call, and then we must invite others to an experience with Christ. In today’s Gospel, in which Jesus calls Simon Peter and Andrew along with James and John, we see that their responses were immediate. They left everything and followed Him. The level of trust and confidence that they displayed must be reflected in the manner in which we also answer His Call. They understood that a follower of Christ must depend completely on Him. Let us pray in this week ahead that we have that same level of confidence and trust in His Call for us.
