As we prepare to enter into a week in which we give thanks, I ask each of you to take a moment and truly reflect on that for which you are most thankful. Let us be mindful that Thanksgiving Day comes but once a year. However, our willingness to give thanks to God and to be grateful should be a daily occurrence. Perhaps we can use the formula of prayer that Blessed Don Alvaro used: “thank you, forgive me, help me more.” When you say thank you, think of that one thing for which you are most grateful. When you say, forgive me, think of that thing for which you are most sorry. When you say, help me more, think of that area of your life where you need to grow. This is a simple prayer that can be done daily to show God our love and gratitude.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and all your loved ones!
