As announced last weekend, I am pleased that Cardinal O’Malley has appointed Fr. Joseph Ferme as a  temporary parochial vicar to St. Mary’s.  Fr. Ferme will be with us during the summer months while he is home from his studies in Rome.  In the fall, he will return to Rome to continue his studies in Canon Law.  Father Ferme comes from West Islip, NY and was born on October 30, 1993. He has a younger sister, Veronica, and his parents are Joseph and Linda (Capuano) Ferme.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in molecular biology and biochemistry from Boston University in 2015.  His seminary formation began at St. John Seminary and he continued his preparation in Rome at the Pontifical North American College, with academic studies  at the Pontifical Gregorian University.

Fr. Dominic and I look forward to welcoming Fr. Ferme to our pastoral team here at St. Mary’s.  We anticipate his arrival on July 5th.   In the meantime, please keep him in your prayers as he completes this academic year’s course of study.

Faithfully Yours in Christ,
Fr. Wayne
