A happy and blessed Easter to each of you and your loved ones. This has been an extraordinary week in which we witnessed the depths of God’s love for us. This Holy Week was a reminder that: the greater the love, the deeper the desire to do for the one you love. God showed us what that looks like in action.
Also, this past weekend, I was able to share with each of you the news that Cardinal O’Malley has appointed me pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish. For the past seven years, I have been honored and privileged to serve as the administrator of our parish family. With the news that St. Mary’s will become a “stand-alone” collaborative as of June 1st, I will begin in my new capacity as pastor. I continue to ask each of you for your prayers and support as we continue to build on the solid foundation of our parish family. Fr. Dominic and I will continue to serve the needs of the parish and pledge to you our heartfelt gratitude and prayers. I would like to conclude this message with the words from my very first bulletin article to you from August of 2016:
Please keep me in your prayers and be most assured that each of you will be in my thoughts and prayers. As we begin this journey together, I would like to echo the words of St. Josemaria, the founder of Opus Dei, “My Lord and my God, under the loving eyes of our Mother, we are making ready to accompany You along this path.”
Holy Mary, our hope, seat of wisdom, pray for us!
Faithfully Yours in Christ,
Fr. Wayne
