Several times in the readings today the theme of “thirst” is highlighted.  In the first reading, the people grumble against Moses ~ complaining about being thirsty in the desert.  In the Gospel, the Samaritan woman goes to the well to get water to satisfy her thirst.  Christ, Himself, makes it known that He is thirsty.  In each instance, the thirst was satisfied.  Moses, instructed by God, struck the rock in front of the people and immediately water flowed out.  The woman at the well struck up a conversation with the Lord, and yes immediately grace flowed.  Our Lord struck a chord in the heart of the woman and immediately joy flowed.  Ultimately, Christ thirsted for her salvation as He thirsted for the salvation of the world on the Cross.  Are you thirsty today?  Are you thirsting for holiness?  Strike up a conversation with the Lord in prayer and have that thirst immediately quenched.

Faithfully Yours in Christ,
Fr. Wayne
