The Gospel scene for this Second Sunday of Lent is a familiar one that greets us each time we enter the main Church. The Transfiguration scene is front and center on the main altar. As we ponder this scene before our own eyes, let us not overlook the simple yet genuine request made by St. Peter:
“If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
St. Peter’s immediate response was to do something ~anything~ for the Lord. Recall that in the desert last weekend, the Angels ministered to Christ. They did something ~anything~ for Christ. In this second week of Lent, what is our response to the Lord? Are we ready and willing to do something ~anything~ for Him who has done so much ~everything~ for us?
Faithfully Yours in Christ,
