This Gospel scene has always captured my attention (if I am honest, I suppose all Gospel scenes do that to one degree or another).  Just imagine, however, sitting at the feet of Jesus and looking into His eyes.  Imagine for a moment hearing what His voice sounds like.  Imagine completely abandoning yourself and adoring Him.  Imagine tending to Christ and waiting on Him as opposed to the other way around.  Well, you really don’t have to imagine that for very long.  We are blessed here at St. Mary’s to have many excellent opportunities to do just that each and every day.   You can be in His presence, listen to His voice, adore Him, and tend to Him.  This encounter with the Lord begins with Mass and continues beyond the Mass in the Perpetual Adoration Chapel.  I encourage each of you to take advantage of the Masses celebrated here daily and on the weekend.  We have Holy Mass offered 17 times each week.  We have Eucharistic Adoration available 168 hours each week.  You have ample opportunities to spend time with the Lord.  So, I encourage you to be like both Martha and Mary; that is, sit at His feet, look into His eyes, listen to His voice, abandon yourself and adore Him, and tend to His wants; this is what will bring about our salvation.

Yours in Christ,
Fr. Wayne
