This is My chosen Son; listen to Him.”  We have left the depth of the arid desert and now journey with our Lord to the heights of the mountain.  In the desert, we watched our Lord endure three temptations.  He entered those temptations to undo, in a certain sense, the three temptations of Adam in the Garden.  Adam was tempted by food (apple), possessions (taking what he saw), and pride (to be like God) ~ all of which he failed.  Christ was tempted by food (bread), possessions (all the cities of the world), and pride (If You are the Son of God); He triumphed over the lies and deceptions of the evil one.  Now, God tells us that He is pleased with the work of His Son and commands us to listen to Him.  Already by this second week of Lent, we have observed and listened to the Lord.  Now is the time to put into action what has been received.

Yours in Christ,
