“You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.” These are the words that were distinctly heard as Jesus emerged from the water after John had baptized Him. Who among us would not love to hear these words? To hear that we are beloved children of God would be enough to warm our hearts and shatter any darkness that may surround us. In fact, we do hear these words from our Father in Heaven each time we strive to live the Commandments; when we love one another, as we pray in Adoration, upon reception of the Sacraments. Yes, our Heavenly Father is well pleased with each of us when we seek to answer the universal call to holiness. In this great feast of the Lord’s Baptism, share in the joy of one who knows that they are a child of God.
