In the Gospel this weekend, Thomas makes the claim: “My Lord and My God.” This recognition of Jesus’ identity exclaimed by Thomas, perhaps, can fuel our prayers during these days of viewing the Holy Mass via our live-streaming. Unfortunately, you cannot receive Jesus physically in the Eucharist as you watch the Holy Mass from your homes. You can, however, make an Act of Adoration ~ an Act of Love when you see the Sacred Host and Chalice lifted above the altar. How? Simply affirm the identity of Jesus by praying the words of St. Thomas: “My Lord and My God.” In that moment, you are offering to Jesus an Act of Adoration ~ an Act of Love. In these days, we must realize that regardless of our current situation ~ Christ has truly risen from the dead. This gives us the hope we so desperately need. Jesus offers us His peace today through the words of the Gospel. Make your response to His peace by crying out “My Lord and My God.”
Faithfully Yours in Christ,
Fr. Wayne
