As we continue into this month dedicated to the beloved Souls in Purgatory, let us continue to remember them in our prayers. Also, as you offer a prayer, perhaps make a small sacrifice for that one soul who has been forgotten. Our brothers and sisters in Purgatory need our prayerful assistance. I can assure you that if it is your prayer that helped a soul get to Heaven, that soul will be forever grateful. Last week our teens prayed for the Holy Souls and our Young Adults prayed the Rosary at the cemetery for these beloved souls.

Prayer to Jesus Christ for the Holy Souls
Author: St. Alphonsus Liguori

O most sweet Jesus, through the bloody sweat which You did suffer in the Garden of Gethsemane, have mercy on these Blessed Souls. Have mercy on them.
R. Have mercy on them, O Lord.

O most sweet Jesus, through the pains which You did suffer during Your most cruel scourging, have mercy on them.
R. Have mercy on them, O Lord.

O most sweet Jesus, through the pains which You did suffer in Your most painful crowning with thorns, have mercy on them.
R. Have mercy on them, O Lord.

O most sweet Jesus, through the pains which You did suffer in carrying Your cross to Calvary, have mercy on them.
R. Have mercy on them, O Lord.

O most sweet Jesus, through the pains which You did suffer during Your most cruel Crucifixion, have mercy on them.
R. Have mercy on them, O Lord.

O most sweet Jesus, through the pains which You did suffer in Your most bitter agony on the Cross, have mercy on them.
R. Have mercy on them, O Lord.

O most sweet Jesus, through the immense pain which You did suffer in breathing forth Your Blessed Soul, have mercy on them.
R. Have mercy on them, O Lord.

(Recommend yourself to the Souls in Purgatory and mention your intentions)

Let us pray: O God, the author of mercy, the lover of the salvation of all; we address Your clemency, on behalf of our loved ones and benefactors, who have departed this life, that by the intercession of blessed Mary, ever virgin, and of all the saints, You would receive them into the enjoyment of eternal happiness; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Yours in Christ,
Fr. Wayne
