In the first reading from the Book of Leviticus, we hear: “Be holy, for I, the Lord your God is holy.” Jesus, in the Gospel , today tells us: “So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.” In both instances, we are encouraged to answer the call to holiness. In just a few days, we will enter the season of Lent. We will have forty days to respond to this universal call to holiness ~ how will you do so? Lent is a call for us to prayer, fasting, and almsgiving ~ make sure this has meaning in your life this season.
