“Go and tell John what you hear and see: the blind regain their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have the good news proclaimed to them.”
These are the words of instruction that Jesus gave in the Gospel today to those gathered around Him. I cannot help but think that these are also the words that Jesus offers to us. That is, we are to go out, not to John the Baptist, but to the world and proclaim what we have seen and heard. Each of us has seen the power of grace working in our lives ~ talk about it to others. We have heard the subtle voice of God in prayer ~ share it with those you encounter. We are called always to witness to God’s presence in our lives. In these days of Advent, prepare not only your hearts for the coming of Christ, but help prepare the hearts of those around you. You can do so by telling them what you have seen and heard.
