This weekend, the Church celebrates Good Shepherd Sunday as well as World Day of Prayer for Vocations. It has been almost a year since we were plagued once again with issues of sexual abuse and misdeeds by clergy. I think now more than ever before we need to pray for good and holy men to step forward as priests and prayers for our current clergy are necessary.  Last year, my concern as pastor, was that many would lose heart and walk away as we confronted another wave of scandal.  Efforts were made to help each of you maintain your love for Christ and His Church.  I was humbled and pleased when people voiced that they come to Church for the Eucharist and not the priest!  My simply response then and now is a resounding, Amen!  You have kept the faith because, as Jesus says in the Gospel today, “My sheep hear My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.” You are here today because you know and follow the voice of Jesus.  Thank you for your witness and your inspiration.  God bless you all.
