I don’t know about you but, I for one am all about giving people another chance.  I am   actually grateful when people give me another chance to correct my faults and failures.  The gospel today is about another chance.  The gardener could have cut down the fig tree when asked, however, he pleads with the owner and asks for another chance, another opportunity to try and coax fruit from the tree.  God gives us that same opportunity – even daily.  He allows us as many chances as it takes to get it right.  If God is so generous to us, perhaps in this Lenten season, we could afford that opportunity to one another.  St. Josemaria reminds us that: “A saint is a sinner that keeps trying.”
