In the Gospel this weekend, Jesus offers an invitation to His soon to be followers: “Come follow Me.”  He is inviting them to take an active role in His mission and ministry.  His is a ministry of holiness, mercy, charity, salvation, and yes, sacrifice.  He called His early Disciples to fully participate in all of that and more.  He is also inviting and calling you and me to do likewise.  This weekend, let us heed that call and that invitation.  Yet, like the early followers one thing is necessary, namely, we must put down and leave our nets, the nets in our lives that entangle us, that frustrate us and even ensnare us.  These nets of fear, anxiety, and uncertainty in which we get caught up in, need to be put aside so that we may be free to respond to His call and invitation.  So, leave your nets behind and go forward and answer the call to “Come follow Him.”  Will you?

Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Fr. Wayne
