In the Gospel this weekend, we hear of the rich fool who stores up treasures only for himself. He fails to see what is truly important in this life. He hoards his possessions and provisions only to watch them accumulate ~ all for the sake of himself. Then Jesus reminds all listening that this man, like each of us, will perish. What then is the value and sense of accumulating so many possessions? None of that will get one to heaven. Jesus tells those present to be rich in what matters to God. And, what matters to God? Your salvation! So, together lets get done what matters to God.
“What has to be done, must be done… without hesitation, without more worrying. Otherwise, Teresa of Avila would not have been St. Teresa: nor Ignatius of Loyola, St. Ignatius. God and daring! ‘We want Christ to reign!’”
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
