You may have noticed that our Perpetual Adoration Chapel (St. Joseph Chapel) received some new gifts this past week. There is a new Altar and Altar Crucifix in addition to new candle and several new pews. These were donated to St. Mary’s from the Bayridge Residence. Bayridge is a cultural center operated by Opus Dei for undergraduate and graduate women studying in the Boston area. This year, it was decided to relocate the center and change its focus from college women to families. In the moving process, they determined several items from the old center would not go with them and they were gracious enough to consider St. Mary’s a suitable home for the sacred items. The new center is located in Sherborn and it will start to offer formation and spiritual programs to help women in their vocations as mothers.
Across the front of the Altar there is a verse from Our Lord in Latin: Ego sum Via, Veritas, et Vita ~ which translates ~ I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”
Many thanks to Bayridge and Opus Dei for such a beautiful gift to St. Mary’s. It should be further noted that many additional books in our Chapel and Parish Center Library have been donated by Bayridge.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Wayne
