This past week, many may have learned about the demonic actions taken by a priest, in the south, that included the desecration of  the Sacred Altar.  The Sacred Altar, throughout Old Testament history and to our present day is a sacred object meant to encounter God through the sacrifices placed upon it.  To use the Sacred Altar for some type of demonic activity is truly the work of evil.  The people of God demand and deserve to have respect shown to the Church and the sacred objects housed within the Church.  This weekend and going forward, you will notice that the Sacred Altar here at St. Mary’s will be shown heightened reverence.  I encourage each of you to make an act of  reparation/atonement for that sacrilegious act.  Perhaps, you can pray a Rosary, kiss the feet of Christ on a Crucifix, fast from dessert, or any other act of love you can think of in reparation for that one act of sacrilege.

Faithfully Yours in Christ,

Fr. Wayne
