First Sunday of Advent

Believe it or not! This weekend, the Church enters into the First Sunday of Advent. This is a time for us all to prepare for the birth of Christ. I urge each of you to use this time wisely. Customarily, this becomes a season in which we get consumed by Christmas shopping, blow-out sales, ordering deadlines, and crazed Christmas parties. Little time if any is spent preparing for the greatest gift of all, the birth of Christ. Ways to prepare over these next four weeks can be: attend Mass (daily and weekend), make a good confession, pray a holy hour during Perpetual Adoration, pray the Rosary with your family, volunteer at the Church, read the Bible, or participate in the many Advent opportunities listed in the bulletin. These are small means of preparation that show God your love and dedication.
