This weekend continues Jesus’ Bread of Life discourse. This is a great opportunity for us to pause for just a moment to examine our love, reverence, and devotion to the Eucharist. By virtue of this examination, we necessarily must take a look at our participation in the celebration of the Holy Mass. The Second Vatican Council in its decree Sacrosanctum Concilium stated that the Holy Mass is: “the summit toward which the activity of the Church is directed; and the same time, it is the fountain from which all her powers flow.” I encourage each of you to take the statement to prayer before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament (St. Joseph’s Chapel). The richness of those words certainly will fuel your love, reverence, and devotion to the Eucharist, Christ’s Real Presence among us.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Wayne
