“I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me, because I live and you will live.”
Jesus offers us these words today, which are a fulfillment of the promise that was made at the moment of His conception in the womb of our Blessed Mother. The angel Gabriel told Mary that the Child will be called Emmanuel, which means God-with-us. Jesus tells us plainly today that He will not leave us orphans; in other words, He will not go back on the promise made at His birth. He is now preparing us for His Ascension and the ultimate sending of the Holy Spirit into our lives. The fullness of the Holy Spirit is the fullness of the promise that we will never be abandoned by God. The Holy Spirit is God’s presence among us. The Holy Spirit is sent by the Father and the Son into the world . Prepare your hearts for the expression of God’s love. Make ready your lives for the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
Come Holy Spirit and fill the minds and the hearts of the faithful with the fullness of Your love.
Faithfully Yours in Christ,
Fr. Wayne
