Today, the Church celebrates the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord Jesus. This feast indicates the beginning of Jesus’ public ministry. As we shall see in the Gospel next Sunday, Jesus will travel from the Jordan River to the Wedding Feast in Cana. It is there that He will perform His first miracle. This is an extraordinary time not only in the life of Jesus, but also, ours. Over the past few weeks, many figures have entered the manger scene. The shepherds, the workers, the Magi, and yes, you and I ~ all looked at that Child and wondered, “Who is He?” Now, all can clearly see and understand. The voice of God spoke and said, “You are my beloved Son; with You I am well pleased .” Next week, we will see exactly what Christ is capable of accomplishing. From the cradle to the Jordan River to the Wedding in Cana, we see the glory of God rest on Jesus. Today, simply offer a prayer of gratitude for the presence of Christ in your life.
