This weekend the Church enters into the third week of Advent. We are nearing the moment in which the manger scene will be flooded with the gift of God’s love. Let us use these remaining Advent days by continuing to prepare for such a gift. The prophet Zephaniah, in our first reading, gives us what we need to stay focused and alert: “Shout for joy ~ Sing joyfully ~ Be glad and exult with all your heart ~ Fear not ~ Be not discouraged! The Lord is in your midst, a mighty savior; he will rejoice over you with gladness, and renew you in his love.”
