What greater proof do we need of God’s love than the Cross of Jesus Christ? Throughout Lent, Holy Week, and the entire Easter Season, we witnessed first-hand the depths of God’s love for us. I often remind people that it was love not nails that held Christ to the Cross. That same love propelled the Holy Spirit into our lives last Sunday with the great feast of Pentecost. This Sunday, we continue to celebrate the identity of God as we celebrate the feast of the Most Holy Trinity. The love that is displayed between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, is a model for the manner by which we are to live our lives. There is a deep union and intimacy displayed in the Trinity, we are called to live that same unity and intimacy with our families and friends. Since we are made in the image and likeness of God, and God is One, we are created to be united first and foremost with God and then with those around us.
