In the Gospel this weekend, Jesus raises marriage to the dignity of the Sacraments.  The Code of Canon Law, which governs the Church, speaks about three goods from every marriage, namely: 1) the good of the spouses, 2) the good of the family, and 3) the good of the community.  What does this mean?  The good of the spouses reminds us that in every marriage the spouses must take an active role in helping the other to become a saint. The good of the family calls the couple to care for and educate the fruit of their martial love, their children. Once this is accomplished the good of the community benefits from those who form communities. Today, let us pray for strong, holy, and faithful marriages.  Let us also pray for those marriages that may be struggling.

Yours in Christ,
Fr. Wayne
