In the Gospel this weekend, Jesus issues an invitation to His soon to be followers: “Come follow Me.” He is inviting them to take an active role in His ministry. His is a ministry of holiness, mercy, charity, salvation, and yes, sacrifice. He called His Disciples to participate in all of that and more. He is, also, inviting and calling us to do likewise. This weekend, let us heed that call and that invitation. We will present at all the Masses the many (and I mean many. . .) ministries, programs, and activities that help the people of St. Mary’s and beyond to grow in holiness, mercy, charity and yes, sacrifice. All of those programs, spiritual, educational, and social, are established in order to assist you in answering the call to be saints. Be attentive to the many opportunities presented and prayerfully consider joining one or several of them. These programs need your help in order to grow and provide opportunities for the betterment of our brothers and sisters. I guess this is the simple way of asking you to “Come follow Him.” So, will you?
Faithfully Yours in Christ,
Fr. Wayne
