This weekend, the Church celebrates the feast of Pentecost. It has been fifty days since the great celebration of the resurrection of Christ and ten days since His ascension into heaven. Now we experience the descent of the Holy Spirit. Today we celebrate the fullness of God’s spirit come down from heaven into our lives. Just imagine that the love between the Father and the Son was so intense and immense not even heaven could contain it. The Holy Spirit, the fullness of the love of the Father and the Son, poured forth from Heaven and down into our lives. Truly we are blessed in this moment as we celebrate the feast of the descent of God’s spirit into our hearts, our church, and in our world. With one voice, we join people from all over the world as we cry out:
“Come Holy Spirit fill the minds and hearts of Your faithful with the fire of Your love, come and renew the face of the earth.”
