This Wednesday, we will once again enter into the season of Lent with the celebration of Ash Wednesday. I would encourage each of you to take advantage of the spiritual programs offered by the parish over the next forty days. Take advantage of the many Masses, extended hours of Confession, Stations of the Cross, Rosary, Book Club, Bible Studies, and faith based programs. Above all, we can all make this a great Lent by spending extra personal time in prayer and reading the Holy Bible and a Spiritual Book. Let us take the forty days of Lent with a special seriousness and offer to the Lord little sacrifices each of those days. St. Josemaria once said:
“We cannot regard this Lent as just another liturgical season which has simply happened to come around again. It is a unique time: a divine aid which we should accept. Jesus is passing by and he hopes that we will take a great step forward – today, now.”
