As we enter into this Second Sunday of Advent, the Gospel reminds us of the voice of St. John the Baptist that cries out: “Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight His paths.” So, how is your preparation going? I would like to suggest a simple yet beautiful way in which we can prepare for Christ’s coming. Slowly but surely Christmas decorations are going up all around us. We are indeed getting closer to the day of the Lord’s birth. As you walk or drive through the city and beyond, when you see a Christmas decoration (religious or secular) simply say: “Come, Lord Jesus,” or “Jesus, I love You.” This simple act will not only heighten our awareness but also make straight a pathway in our hearts for the Christ Child.
